Io's Grindz - Experienced Cook Makes the Difference
Hawaii Diner Staff & The Ozawa Family
March 2006

Shari Berinobis has never owned a restaurant before but she says she is having a great time with this little spot at Remington College. She said that her motiviation came from years of working and never being able to find a great salad for lunch. So, while they have great hot entrees and a very good breakfast (assistant to the building manager, Fran Orian, says the French Toast Strips are a must-try) top-notch salads and healthy wraps are her passion. They offer daily specials and one of them I enjoyed was the Teri Meatloaf. I'm not usually a fan of teriyaki since it is often too sweet, but this was very nice - like teriyaki should be, and the meatloaf was moist, juicy and delicious. Building owner, Jim Steiner, recommends everything but has a special fondness for the Rueben Sandwich.
